OCR Prep (Obstacle Course Race Preparation) @spartanrace Sprint Feb. 11th starts January 9th.
This is a 5 week group program that will take your training to a more specific level of fitness to get you ready for this obstacle race.
Our goal is to get you more than ready to “stay ready”, therefore we are also giving you a simple program that you can start on your own as soon as you sign up to slowly build up your running skills. Then you will join the group workouts starting January 9th.
We will have 2 groups – 12pm and 5pm every Tuesday and Thursday for 5 weeks (January 9th to February 8th and RACE DAY Feb. 11th).
Note: This program will be different than our GroupFit training. We will be training outside using tires, sled, stones or slam balls, buckets, and other equipment that will help you stay ready. Traning will still take place at FunkFit in downtown Gilbert in the back parking lot. We will recommend specific training for Saturday’s or Sundays to do on your own. You can also team up for these training days with other OCR participants or coaches.
Our goal is to have 20 to 30 participants. We have done this in the past and we can do it again!
If you have any injuries we recommend you sit this one out and wait until the next OCR Prep.
Cost is only $100 for Members and $125 for non-Members *does not include race (race is on Groupon now)

What can you expect of OCR-Prep?
- 5 week strength and conditioning program specific for race.
- Improve your aerobic and anaerobic capacity.
- Learn how to become more strength and endurance efficient. work-in vs. working-out
- Use different tools such as tires, sleds (for longer distances), heavy carries, speed and agility drills, and much more.
